SCANA Corporation is currently hiring Application Developers to fill positions in our Information Services and Technology Department (IST) located in Columbia, South Carolina. These positions are part of new program developed to provide a unique opportunity for selected candidates to get broad exposure to the Information Systems at a Fortune 500 Company. The program will allow the selected candidates to work in various areas of our IST department and gain a variety of technology and business experience prior to being placed with a specific applications development team within IST.
Application Developers will be responsible for learning and understanding software development, relational database technologies, and application implementations. Candidates must understand object-oriented programming techniques and practices, and have a working knowledge of software development. Successful candidates will participate in the analysis, design, development, testing, documentation, and on going support of computer applications such as Customer Information Systems, Financial Systems, and Electric & Gas Operations Systems. Candidates must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision in a multi tasked environment, and interpersonal skills to integrate customer needs with software and infrastructure requirements. Must be a team player and have the ability to follow and enforce standards and procedures. Candidates must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite of products and must be willing to learn and experience new technologies and languages.

Candidates must have a Bachelors Degree (or be within 3 months of graduation) in a computer-related major (such as computer science, engineering, or management info systems) with a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher, OR An associates Degree and 4+ years of job related experience or High School Diploma and 8+ years of job related experience.
