Objective: Intern will perform web programming duties. Website is currently being re-developed in the Drupal content management system, which is written in PHP. Intern will work directly with Web Marketing Manager. All work done will have the indirect goal of improving search engine placement and converting web site visitors to registrants.

Job Description: Assist in developing search engine optimized web pages for www.SouthlandLogHomes.com

• Review search engine trends and keyword usage
• Assist in developing list of pages to be developed based on search engine research (named after popular search terms)
• Develop website page content
• Scan site for “alt” tag usage
• Scan site for title and meta tag usage
• Assist in developing “link” presence via website contributions, social networking site presence, research article submission venues
• Add search engine relevant content to site as needed
• Systematically re-name pages and folders utilizing search engine friendly naming conventions
• Possibly assist in developing new search engine friendly internal navigation system
• Develop and keep site map up to date, check Google at regular intervals to be sure sitemap is up to date.
• Use website SEO checking tools like crawl checker and link popularity checkers to validate code and ensure search engine friendliness
• Assist in reporting results of SEO efforts when applicable
• Assist in writing custom Drupal modules for the site using PHP and MySQL
• Candidate will learn some Drupal, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, web analytics, Excel, and other commonly used web development tools.

Skills:

• Microsoft Word
• Experience with basic web design software like Dreamweaver, Photoshop
• Some marketing and/or computer course work
