This is a full-time position. The duration is for a school semester (Fall, Spring or in some cases Summer)

More than just a short term position, a co-op appointment at Santee Cooper involves taking a participant from the classroom and putting them in a real work environment. At Santee Cooper you will be given the opportunity to develop personally and professionally while you:

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be enrolled full-time in a four-year ABET accredited (like USC CSE) college/university with a major in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or Mathematics
• Must have completed two semesters of course work.
• Must have a minimum cumulative GPA/GPR – 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
• Must pass pre-employment physical including a drug screen

Responsibilities (depending on your qualifications) may include but are not limited to:

Applications co-op

• Analyzes client requests for service and performs application program coding, program and functional testing, and production turnover in accordance with current standards, assuring programs perform as designed before being placed into production, and assures the programs are scheduled to process as required..
• Documents application and programs according to current standards.

Web Services co-op

• Maintenance of existing Intranet and Internet sites.

WAN/LAN co-op

• Assists in implementing/installing servers and networks; assists in installing routers, communication switches and network hardware, software, and operating systems.
• Assists in the identification of hardware and software technical problems and provides basic problem resolution for data communication problems, provides support and troubleshooting for operating systems.
• With direction from IT Network Analysts, provides maintenance, upgrades, and support of network infrastructure; monitors servers and network hardware and software.

Data Base co-op

• Provides day-to-day support to database programming and technical support staff for database maintenance.
• Provides the logical and physical database design.
